    Session Promotes the Satoyama Development Mechanism for a Nature-positive Society

    On 2 December 2022, IPSI Secretaria co-hosted a session at the 14th International Forum for Sustainable Asia and the Pacific (ISAP 2022). The online event discussed the Satoyama Development Mechanism (SDM), a seed funding programme that supports projects to promote, conserve, or restore socio-ecological landscapes and seascapes (SEPLS). The session was organised in partnership with the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES).

    Symposium Discusses Citizen Science and Blue Carbon Projects for Seascape Restoration

    On 20 September 2022, the IPSI Secretariat, hosted by UNU-IAS, held an online symposium on community-based activities and governance for seascape restoration, focusing on blue carbon systems and citizen science. It was part of a series of events launched in February 2022 as part of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration.

    Workshop Introduces Urban-Rural Sustainability Fellowship in the Asia-Pacific

    The Secretariat of the Satoyama Initiative participated in the online workshop Integrated Nature-Culture Approaches to Rural Sustainability organised by the Centre for Civil Society and Governance of the University of Hong Kong. The event introduced the AIRI Fellowship Programme 2022-2023 and experts discussed sustainability and biodiversity conservation practices in rural communities.
