Nine new members and three IPSI Collaborative Activities endorsed

We are pleased to announce the IPSI Steering Committee recently endorsed nine new member organisations. Bringing IPSI’s total membership to 292 organisations! Meet the new members:
- Union of Community Development Volunteers (Non-governmental or civil society organisation, Uganda)
- Akita International University (AIU) (Academic, Educational and/or Research Institute, Japan)
- Department of Integrated Science and Engineering for Sustainable Societies, Faculty of Science and Engineering, Chuo University (Academic, Educational and/or Research Institute, Japan)
- Global Youth Biodiversity Network (Non-governmental or civil society organisation, Germany)
- International Land Conservation Network (ILCN) (Academic, Educational and/or Research Institute, USA)
- Manna Rural Living Experimental Hub (Non-governmental or civil society organisation, Chinese Taipei)
- Pastoralist Economic & Social Advancement (PESA) (Non-governmental or civil society organisation, Tanzania)
- Secretariat do Infrastructure and Environment – Sao Paulo State Government (SIMA-SP) (Local governmental organization, Brazil)
- Taoyuan City Government (Local governmental organization, Chinese Taipei)
We look forward to collaborating closely with all of them to promote the Satoyama Initiative concept in the future.
Moreover, the Steering Committee approved three new IPSI Collaborative Activities, bringing the total number of activities to 58. The new activities are:
- Making OECMs Work: Landscape Approaches for Effective Area-Based Conservation – by Conservation International Japan and UNU-IAS
- Strengthening National Biodiversity and Forest Carbon Stock Conservation through Landscape-based Collaborative Management of Cambodia’s Protected Area System as Demonstrated in the Eastern Plains Landscape (CAMPAS) – by by Ministry of Environment, Cambodia, Institute of Environmental Rehabilitation and Conservation (ERECON), BirdLife, Live & Learn, WWF and Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), General Secretariat of the National Council for Sustainable Development (GSSD), General Directorate of Administration for Nature Conservation and Protection (GDANCP), and General Directorate of Local Community (GDLC)
- Building Climate Resilient Socio Ecological Production Landscapes (SEPLs) in India – by M. S. Swaminathan Research Foundation-Community Agro-biodiversity Centre (MSSRF), Tropical Institute of Ecological Sciences, Kottayam, Kerala, Departments of Plant Science and Zoology, Mananthavady campus, Kannur University
IPSI members are encouraged to propose any activities carried out cooperatively by multiple organisations, including at least two IPSI members, as IPSI Collaborative Activities.
