New publication: "Landscape approach for biodiversity, climate change and sustainable development co-benefits"

2022.02.10

On Thursday 2 December 2021, United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS), host of the IPSI Secretariat, and Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) convened a session entitled “Landscape Approaches for Biodiversity, Climate Change and Sustainable Development Co-benefits” at the 13th International Forum for Sustainable Asia and the Pacific (ISAP2021). The session consisted of a keynote speech, two case study presentations by IPSI members from Indonesia and Argentina and a panel discussion. It identified key challenges and opportunities that socio-ecological production landscapes and seascapes (SEPLS) face and how a landscape approach can contribute to both biodiversity conservation and climate mitigation and adaptation. This issue brief summarises key points from the session, which may contribute to future investigations into this important topic.
