At the Seventh IPSI Global Conference (IPSI-7), held from 29 September to 2 October 2018 in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan, the participants of the IPSI General Assembly endorsed the IPSI-7 “Ishikawa Statement”, a document that expresses, among other things, the participants’ commitment to IPSI’s work and vision, and the inclusion of SEPLS in planning for the post-2020 global biodiversity framework. IPSI-7 was co-organized by the IPSI Secretariat and the Ministry of the Environment, Japan, and hosted by the Ishikawa Prefectural Government, and the organizers and other participants committed with this statement to bring the outcomes of IPSI-7 for dissemination and promotion at CBD COP 14, to be held in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt in November 2018, and other events.
