Time: 11 December, 13:00-14:00 Riyadh
Venue: GEO/GEO-LDN Stage, COP16 Green Zone, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
This side event in the Green Zone of the sixteenth session of the Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD COP16) will illustrate how landscape approaches enable, through deliberative processes, more informed decisions related to land use that account for different types of trade-offs, and options to synergize resources, expertise and ensure equitable transactions between different actors.
These integrated approaches account for the diversity of ecosystems in landscapes, their multifunctional uses and the priorities and agendas of multiple actors who influence their uses.
