The United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS), which serves as the IPSI Secretariat, in collaboration with the Ministry of the Environment of Japan and the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), held a side event at the Nineteenth Meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD SBSTTA-19) on Monday, 2 November 2015.
The event was titled “Collaborative resource mobilization and knowledge facilitation through global partnership: Activities of the International Partnership for the Satoyama Initiative (IPSI)”, and featured speakers on funding for effective projects under the Satoyama Development Mechanism (SDM), collection and synthesis of case studies from around the world, and the “Indicators of Resilience in Socio-ecological Production Landscapes and Seascapes”. Commentary was also provided by experts familiar with the development of the Satoyama Initiative and IPSI.
