The United Nations University Institute for Advanced Studies (UNU-IAS) and the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) held a parallel session on “Satoyama and Sustainable Development:Bridging Project Financing and Knowledge Generation” during the International Forum for Sustainable Asia and the Pacific (ISAP 2015) on 29 July 2015 at the Pacifico Yokohama Conference Center in Yokohama, Japan.

The session’s objectives were:
- To establish a common understanding among different stakeholders on the importance of securing and enhancing sustainability and resilience of SEPLS for the implementation of the proposed post-2015 development goals, i.e. Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in Asia-Pacific Region.
- To enhance attention to and participation in emerging initiatives for bridging finance and knowledge for sustainable and resilient SEPLS.
76 participants attended to hear presentations from experts in SEPLS around Asia and the world, including:
