International Satoyama Intiative

IPSI, the International Partnership for the Satoyama Initiative, promotes collaboration in the conservation and restoration of sustainable human-influenced natural environments (Socio-Ecological Production Landscapes and Seascapes: SEPLS) through broader global recognition of their value.

2-6 September 2019: The Eighth IPSI Global Conference (IPSI-8) and Thematic Consultation

The Eighth Global Conference of the International Partnership for the Satoyama Initiative (IPSI-8) is currently being planned for 2-6 September 2019 in Kumamoto, Japan, hosted by the Kumamoto Prefectural Government. A thematic consultation is also being planned back-to-back with IPSI-8, focusing on landscape and seascape approaches as part of the planning process for the post-2020 global biodiversity framework. Details of the venue and programme are still being developed, but IPSI members who are interested in attending are urged to take note of these dates. An official announcement with registration information will be sent out in the near future, so please watch this space for more details as they become available.
