Kathmandu Forestry College (KAFCOL)


Kathmandu Forestry College (KAFCOL) was established in 2005 as an institution affiliated to Tribhuvan University (TU), Nepal. The college is the first academic institution in Kathmandu valley that has been entrusted by TU to run B.Sc. forestry courses and contribute to the production of forestry graduates in Nepal. The college currently runs a four year B.Sc. forestry and Diploma in forestry (Ranger) courses, and got affiliation with Salzburg University of Austria to run MS program in Geo-informatics. KAFCOL is the member of SATOYAMA INITIATIVE, Japan. At a time when the global community puts environmental issues very high on the agenda of achieving good health for mother earth and its landscapes, we feel that our courses prepare young scientists who will be contribution to the agenda in various capacities—as good citizens, policy makers, planners, researchers and activists. At KAFCOL, we believe in providing high quality research training and education so that our graduates are able to compete internationally.
