The IPSI Secretariat is pleased to share an announcement from the secretariat of the Satoyama Development Mechanism (SDM), one of the IPSI Collaborative Activities.
The SDM Secretariat has now opened a call for proposals for SDM 2015.
This collaborative activity is established by the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), the United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS), and the Ministry of the Environment of Japan (MOEJ) in order to facilitate further implementation of IPSI activities.
The objectives of SDM are to:
(1) Promote the implementation of activities under the IPSI Strategy and Plan of Action
(2) Promote the development of model practices for living in harmony with nature through sustainable use of SEPLS and contribution to the Aichi Biodiversity Targets
(3) Provide an incentive for IPSI members to strengthen partnerships and to generate a knock-on effect from joint activities for the sustainable use of SEPLS
One or two projects will be selected under each of the four SDM project types, and will be provided with a maximum support of approximately 10,000 USD for their implementation.
The deadline for applications is Saturday, 5 September, 2015.
Eligibility for applicants is for IPSI member organizations only.
