International Satoyama Intiative

IPSI, the International Partnership for the Satoyama Initiative, promotes collaboration in the conservation and restoration of sustainable human-influenced natural environments (Socio-Ecological Production Landscapes and Seascapes: SEPLS) through broader global recognition of their value.

Collaborative Activities

IPSI activities and IPSI collaborative activities

All IPSI members engage in one or more of the activities promoted under IPSI. These activities are divided into five clusters, namely: (1) Knowledge Facilitation, (2) Policy Research, (3) Indicators Research, (4) Capacity Building and (5) On-the-ground Activities. These ongoing activities of members provide common ground within the IPSI partnership.

In addition to ongoing member activities, projects that are in accordance with one or more cluster above, and are carried out cooperatively by multiple member organisations, can be recognized and promoted as IPSI Collaborative Activities. To be an IPSI Collaborative Activity, the project must be endorsed by the IPSI Steering Committee as pursuing the achievement of the goals of the Satoyama Initiative and encouraging communication and information exchange among IPSI members.

40 Collaborative Activities have been reviewed and endorsed by the IPSI Steering Committee. Please see the links below for more information.
