Liaohe River Reserve
In 2010, in order to control water pollution and improve river ecological environment, Liaoning Provincial Government established Liaohe River Reserve. The Reserve ranges from the confluence of the east and the west Liaohe River in Fudedian, to the estuary in Panjin city, spanning about 538 km, with a total area of 1869.2 km2, involving four cities–Tieling, Shenyang, Anshan and Panjin.

In 2010, Liaoning Provincial Government established Liaoning Province Authority of Liaohe River, whom takes the functions of Provincial Department of Water Resources, Provincial Department of Environmental Protection, Provincial Department of Land and Resources, Provincial Department of Transportation, Provincial Department of Agriculture, Provincial Department of Forestry and Provincial Department of Oceanic and Fishery in the region of Liaohe River Reserve.

Liaoning Province Authority Of Liaohe River aims at:

1)Reducing water contamination and improving water quality of the main stream of Liaohe River;

2)Guaranteeing the effect of flood passage during the flood season;

3)Increasing wet land, reducing sand and dust pollution, improving ecology environment;

4)Enlarging species number in the Reserve by protecting biodiversity.
