CLES, MUC has been established since 1986 in Beijing. After more than 50 years of development, the CLES has become a comprehensive research college with life and environmental sciences as its main focus, and ethnic ecology studies as its unique characteristics. By the end of 2010, the CLES has 58 in-service faculty and staff from 10 ethnic groups, with 14 full professors, 17 associate professors, 16 doctoral students, 110 master students and 900 bachelor students. The academic achievements of the school are of high academic value and practical significance and have laid a solid foundation for life and environmental science studies in ethnic areas, 277 papers and 47 books have been published world widely.
